Currency

The Aruban Florin (AWG), also referred to as the Aruba Guilder (sometimes abbreviated as Afl.), has been the official currency of Aruba since 1986, when it replaced the Netherlands Antillean Guilder (ANG). This change was part of Aruba’s efforts to gain greater autonomy within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Official Language Spoken

The official languages of Aruba are Dutch and Papiamento. Dutch is used in government and legal matters, while Papiamento, a Creole language that blends elements of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and African languages, is the most widely spoken language among the local population. Additionally, English and Spanish are commonly spoken due to Aruba's tourism industry.
